The appearance of a charred wood deck brings about a lot of beauty, texture, and style to the outdoors. The concept of charred wood is inspired by the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method where the wood is charred so as to bring about a black, textured look. Apart from the aesthetic value, when charred wood is treated well, it can increase resistance to moisture, pests, and weathering, which depend on the type of wood used and its treatment. Thus, when looking for a unique deck for your home, the idea of using charred wood may suit you best. Proper choice of wood, application of a proper finish, and following maintenance tips are important in order to keep your charred wooden deck looking great and performing well. When looking to build a backyard or create an outdoor area, the use of charred wood is perfect.
