Quick mobile sign-up vs full registration - which do you prefer for games? (32 อ่าน)

For mobile games, do you prefer a super quick sign-up process – like, just a button press and you're in – or are you okay with going through a more thorough registration? On one hand, I love the instant gratification of just jumping right into a game. On the other, sometimes I worry that those quick sign-ups are less secure or might be sharing more info than I realize. What's your take? Which approach do you generally prefer, and why? Do the different approaches affect your decision to play or not play the game?

I definitely lean towards a balance. I want it to be relatively quick, but not so quick that I feel like my data is just being vacuumed up without my consent. There was an interesting discussion about this very topic in an article I saw recently. It's called Why the Sign Up Experience Can Change the Whole Feel of a Fast Game https://myindiawire.com/why-the-sign-up-experience-can-change-the-whole-feel-of-a-fast-game/ If they offer a quick sign-up through Google or something, that’s reasonable. When it comes to mobile game sign up on my phone, the less typing, the better.

It's sort of a trade-off between convenience and control, isn't it? The quicker the signup, the less control you have over what information you're sharing and how it's being used. On the other hand, the more thorough the registration, the more friction there is, and the less likely someone is to actually complete the process. It's a delicate balancing act for game developers, trying to find that sweet spot that maximizes sign-ups without alienating users.
