Renowned Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan has been appointed a new member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Players' Advisory Council (PAC).



In a recent statement, the ICC announced that the changes to the PAC are aimed at strengthening the role and voice of players in key decision-making in world cricket.



According to the statement, Rashid Khan joins the PAC alongside Sri Lankan Chamari Atapattu and Italy's Vin Madsen.



New Zealanders Darryl Mitchell and Maddie Green have also been appointed new members.



The PAC includes prominent figures from around the world, such as Pat Cummins, Jason Holder, Heather Knight, and Aiden Markram, who, along with other players, provide advice on important issues in international cricket.



The ICC emphasized that these changes were made following recent meetings with national teams with the aim of further strengthening player involvement in the development of the sport.



The Advisory Council, established in 2018, is considered one of the key bodies of the ICC and is responsible for representing the opinions and proposals of players from different countries on issues of international tournaments, strategic planning and the protection of players' rights.
