Effective Treatment Strategies for Liver Abscesses (13 อ่าน)
6 พ.ย. 2568 18:37
Effective treatment of liver abscesses combines source control and medical therapy. Percutaneous drainage or surgical drainage is indicated for large, multiloculated, or nonresponding collections. Initial broad-spectrum antibiotics should cover Gram-negatives, anaerobes, and Staphylococcus aureus depending on risk factors; adjust when culture results return. Common regimens include beta-lactam–beta-lactamase inhibitors or carbapenems, with de-escalation guided by pathogen sensitivity. Imaging guides aspiration and catheter placement. Supportive care, fluid resuscitation, and management of sepsis are essential. Treat underlying conditions such as biliary obstruction or portal vein seeding. Coordinate with cephalexin distributors for noninvasive outpatient options where appropriate. Early recognition improves outcomes and reduces complications.
