Depending on the generation, you will have to use different methods to reset an Echo Dot smart speaker. Generally, to reset most older versions of the Echo Dot, press and hold the Microphone Off and Volume Down buttons for about 20 seconds until the light ring turns orange and the device enters setup mode. On the first, earlier generation Echo Dots, one could press the little reset button on the back using a paperclip until the ring lit in orange. After the reset, use the Alexa app to rejoin the Echo Dot to your Wi, Fi and account.
