I’m planning to visit China on a China tourist visa, but I’m wondering what happens if I decide to stay a little longer than originally planned. Is it possible to extend a China tourist visa while already in China?

What is the process for requesting an extension? Do I need to visit a local Public Security Bureau office, and are extensions commonly approved? I’d also like to know how many days before my visa expires I should apply for an extension to avoid overstaying.

If anyone has successfully extended their China tourist visa, could you please share your experience, required documents, and how long the extension process took?
