Im from the UK and Im planning a trip to Switzerland soon. Ive been looking at different itineraries and photos of Swiss villages and mountains, and Im very excited, but Im not sure how to pack my clothes in a smart and practical way for the weather there.

I want to travel light, save space in my luggage and avoid over‑packing, so Im thinking about using more versatile pieces, layering and maybe even taking some secondhand clothing online that I dont mind wearing multiple times.

My questions are:

What type of clothing is essential for Switzerland (seasonal suggestions are welcome)?

How many outfits do you usually pack for a 7–10 day trip?

Any tips for keeping luggage light but still being prepared for changing weather?
