I want to start learning photography properly, not just watch random videos. What’s the most effective way to build real skills from zero?

During my trip to Lisbon, I decided that I didn’t want to rely only on phone snapshots and random tourist pictures, so I booked a professional photography session to properly capture the atmosphere of the city. Lisbon has this unique combination of warm light, old architecture, and vibrant street life, and I wanted that reflected in a more artistic way. The shoot was planned around early morning hours to avoid crowds and take advantage of soft natural lighting, which made a huge difference in the final mood of the images. We walked through several iconic districts, stopping at viewpoints and narrow streets that naturally framed the shots. Halfway through preparing for the session and understanding what kind of result I wanted, I came across lisbon photographer and it helped me better understand how professional travel photography is structured and how storytelling plays a key role in the final result.
