If you are trying to buy the 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale in Forza Horizon 6, the first thing to know is that you actually cannot purchase it from the Autoshow or with credits. Instead, the car is one of the hidden Treasure Cars scattered around the map, which means you have to discover it in the open world and claim it for free.



The Stratos is hidden in the snowy Sotoyama region of Japan, and once you find it, the car is permanently added to your garage.



The Hidden Car Clue



The in-game clue says:



“A legendary Lancia Stratos has been spotted abandoned near Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in the Sotoyama region. Use the photo to find it.”



Unlike some other rare cars in the game, there are no special requirements, races, or purchases needed before you can unlock it. If you already know the location, you can simply drive there and claim it immediately.



Where to Find the Lancia Stratos



The car is located in the western mountain area of the map inside the snow-covered Sotoyama region. The easiest way to reach it is by following the main alpine road through the mountains.



Here is the route that worked for me:



1. Drive to Sotoyama



Open the world map and head toward the snowy mountains on the western side of Japan. This is the coldest region in the game and easy to recognize because of the heavy snow and winding mountain roads.



2. Find the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route



Once you arrive in the area, look for the famous mountain pass road with the huge snow walls on both sides. This is the main landmark connected to the treasure clue.



3. Start Near Hakusan Mountain Lodge



Locate Hakusan Mountain Lodge on the eastern side of the mountain road. From there, continue driving west uphill along the route.



4. Look for the Ski Chalet



About halfway up the mountain, near the Off Piste Wristband Event, you will spot a small group of buildings and a large light-brown ski chalet sitting beside the road.



This is the area you want.



5. Claim the Car



Park near the chalet and look outside beside the building. The yellow wedge-shaped1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale will be sitting in the snow.



Drive up to it and a short cutscene will trigger. After that, the car becomes yours permanently and appears in your garage.



Is the Lancia Stratos Worth Unlocking?



Definitely. Even though it starts in C Class, the Stratos is one of the more enjoyable classic rally cars in the game. Its lightweight handling and strong off-road grip make it surprisingly competitive on dirt and gravel routes.
