Did psychiatric treatment improve your everyday life and relationships? (7 อ่าน)

I'm considering seeing a psychiatrist, and one thing I've been wondering about is how much of a difference treatment can make outside of the obvious symptoms people seek help for.
For a while now, I've been dealing with anxiety, stress, and periods where I feel emotionally drained. I can still get through my workday and handle most responsibilities, but I've noticed that these issues seem to affect almost every part of my life. I'm more irritable than I used to be, I have less patience with people close to me, and I often feel mentally checked out even when spending time with family or friends.
What concerns me most is that the people around me have started noticing the changes. My partner has mentioned that I seem distant at times, and I've caught myself withdrawing from social activities because I just don't have the energy for them. It has made me realize that whatever is going on isn't only affecting me.
For those who have received psychiatric treatment, did you notice improvements in your relationships and overall quality of life as your symptoms became more manageable? Were there changes that surprised you or benefits you didn't expect when you first started treatment?
I'd really appreciate hearing about real experiences. I'm trying to understand what progress actually looks like in everyday life, not just in terms of symptom reduction, but also in how people interact with others and feel on a day-to-day basis.
